| Oral and
Maxillofacial surgery is a specialty of dentistry
that involves diagnosis and treatment of congenital,
developmental and acquired conditions and diseases
of the mouth, jaws, and midface. An additional four
to six years of hospital based training after dental
school is completed before a surgeon can limit a
practice to oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Procedures performed by oral surgeons range from
removal of impacted teeth, dentoalveolar surgery,
and implant surgery, to complex reconstruction of
the jaws in conjunction with orthodotics,
management of facial trauma, and management of
pathologic conditions. An oral surgeon has extensive
training in anesthesia, allowing most procedures to
be performed in an office setting. Every five years,
each office is reviewed by the state board to assure
that all procedures, drugs and equipment are up to
current standards. It is our goal to provide safe,
convenient, and expert service for your oral and
maxillofacial surgery needs.
